European Parliament Votes To Slash The Cost Of Data Roaming

Welcome news for travellers who use mobile devices – MEPs voted almost unanimously this morning to cap retail data roaming charges in Europe.

European Members of Parliament (MEPs) voted by 578 to 10 in favour of a package of retail price caps that will restrict mobile network operators to charging no more than 70 Euro cents (0.91 USD) per megabyte for data downloads across Europe, and 29 cents (0.37 USD) per minute for calls.
